Transport contracts in New York

Current opportunities, past awards, and the suppliers already winning them.

Transport buying in New York is dominated by authorities rather than by the state department of transportation alone. The MTA and its constituent agencies, the Port Authority, the Thruway Authority and the city's own transportation department all run their own solicitations, on their own schedules, under their own prequalification regimes. A supplier watching the state portal alone is watching a fraction of the spend, and usually not the fraction where the largest capital programmes sit.

Ask your AI assistant instead. Procurement Context makes published solicitations and award records available through MCP, so you can ask which authorities have bought your type of work, who won it, and what the awarded value was where the source recorded it. The answer is drawn from the notices themselves, not from a market summary written some months back by somebody with no stake in your bid.

For transport specialists the deciding question is rarely whether an opportunity exists. It is whether the incumbent is beatable. Rolling stock, signalling, track and station work all tend toward long relationships and repeat awards, and an authority that has renewed the same supplier through three cycles is telling you what the next one will look like. Award history answers that faster than a business development call ever will.

Use cases

Who is buying, and what is next

What an agency has bought, from whom, at what value, and on what cycle. Contracts coming up for renewal are the pipeline nobody has published yet.

Who you are up against

The suppliers who keep winning in a category, with their award history and estimated win rate. Know the incumbent before you commit a team to the response.

What the work goes for

Awarded contract records with values and dates. Price against evidence of what this buyer has paid before, not against a guess.

What is live right now

Open opportunities across every covered portal, filtered by the criteria your team actually qualifies on.

Questions

Does this cover MTA and Port Authority solicitations?
Coverage is portal-agnostic, so it follows whichever New York transport buyers publish publicly, authorities included. Public sources can be brought in without a long lead time. Name the authorities you sell to and we will confirm what is already in place.
Can I see federal funding conditions attached to a transit project?
It returns what the published solicitation and award records contain. Where a buyer has stated funding conditions in the notice, that text is part of the record. Where the buyer published little, the record will be thin. It reflects the documents rather than interpreting them.
How far back does award history go?
It depends on the source, since each portal retains and publishes on its own terms. Where awards have been published they are part of the dataset, with the buying organisation, the winning supplier and the value. Tell us which buyers matter and we will tell you what depth exists for them.
Is there a trial I can run first?
No. Procurement Context is sold rather than self-served, so there is no signup and no free tier. The usual next step is a conversation about which buyers and categories you follow, so we can be specific about what coverage would look like for you.
