Transport contracts in Florida

Current opportunities, past awards, and the suppliers already winning them.

Florida runs its transport programme through a state department of transportation organised into districts, and the districts have real autonomy over what goes to market and when. Add the expressway and turnpike authorities, the regional transit agencies and the county public works departments, and a vendor selling statewide is tracking a set of buyers who do not share a calendar. Miss a district's advertisement window and the next one may be a year out.

This is what Procurement Context is for. Published solicitations and award records reach you through your AI assistant over MCP, so the question you type is the one you actually have: which districts have advertised this kind of work, who has been winning it, and what the awarded values were where the source published them. No portal to check and no saved search to maintain.

Prequalification is the other constraint that shapes Florida bidding. Work classes and capacity ratings limit what you can pursue before competitive position enters the picture, which makes wasted pursuit effort expensive. Knowing that a district has awarded its last several similar jobs to two contractors is the sort of finding that turns a maybe into a considered no-bid, and frees the estimating time for something winnable.

Use cases

Who is buying, and what is next

What an agency has bought, from whom, at what value, and on what cycle. Contracts coming up for renewal are the pipeline nobody has published yet.

Who you are up against

The suppliers who keep winning in a category, with their award history and estimated win rate. Know the incumbent before you commit a team to the response.

What the work goes for

Awarded contract records with values and dates. Price against evidence of what this buyer has paid before, not against a guess.

What is live right now

Open opportunities across every covered portal, filtered by the criteria your team actually qualifies on.

Questions

Does it cover all Florida DOT districts or just statewide postings?
Coverage follows whichever sources publish publicly, and it is portal-agnostic rather than a fixed list. District level advertisements, authority postings and county sources can all be stood up quickly where they are public. Tell us which districts you work in and we will confirm what is there.
Can I see who won a specific letting?
Where the award has been published, yes. Records carry the buying organisation, the winning supplier and the value where the source includes it. For most vendors the repeat pattern across several lettings is more useful than any single result.
Does it include transit agencies as well as highway work?
It can. Regional transit authorities publish their own solicitations, and any public procurement source can be added quickly. Name the agencies you sell to and we will tell you what is already covered.
Do I still need accounts on the bidding systems?
Yes, for submitting. Bids go in wherever the buyer requires them, and that does not change. What changes is the work before submission: finding what is relevant and deciding whether it is worth pricing.
