IT services contracts in Virginia

Current opportunities, past awards, and the suppliers already winning them.

Virginia is two IT markets in one state. The federal buyers concentrated in Northern Virginia procure through the federal system, while the Commonwealth's own agencies, its counties and its universities buy through state and local processes on entirely different terms. Firms based there often chase both, and the mistake is treating them as one pipeline. The incumbents, the cycle length and the evaluation habits are not the same.

Procurement Context keeps both sets of records reachable from the AI assistant your team already uses. You ask what is open in your IT category with Virginia state agencies or local buyers, which suppliers have won similar work, and how the award history reads. The answers come from the source solicitations and award records rather than a summary. There is no separate tool for your team to adopt.

The value is in what you decide not to bid. Virginia IT competitions attract dense fields, and much of the win probability is set before the solicitation drops by who already does the work and how well. Seeing incumbency and recompete history in the same question as the open notice is what makes a fast no-bid defensible to your own leadership, rather than a judgement call somebody has to argue for without evidence in a pipeline review.

Use cases

Who is buying, and what is next

What an agency has bought, from whom, at what value, and on what cycle. Contracts coming up for renewal are the pipeline nobody has published yet.

Who you are up against

The suppliers who keep winning in a category, with their award history and estimated win rate. Know the incumbent before you commit a team to the response.

What the work goes for

Awarded contract records with values and dates. Price against evidence of what this buyer has paid before, not against a guess.

What is live right now

Open opportunities across every covered portal, filtered by the criteria your team actually qualifies on.

Questions

Does this cover Virginia state procurement as well as federal opportunities?
Yes. Commonwealth and local Virginia sources are covered alongside federal ones, which matters if you sell to both. They are different markets with different incumbents. Tell us which side of your pipeline matters most and we will confirm what is in place.
Can I see which suppliers hold Virginia IT contracts?
Yes, and it is worth asking separately for Commonwealth work and for federal work, because the supplier sets differ. The award records name the buying agency and the supplier who won. It reports what the buyer published and nothing beyond that.
Are Virginia universities and local authorities included?
Where they publish publicly, yes. Coverage is portal-agnostic, so university systems, counties and municipal buyers can be stood up as sources. The practical step is telling us which buyers you actually sell to.
Does my team need to change tools?
No. The only interface is MCP, so it works inside Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or whatever assistant you already run. There is no dashboard, no separate login, and nothing to roll out.
