Transport contracts in Ontario

Current opportunities, past awards, and the suppliers already winning them.

Ontario has the deepest transport pipeline in the country and the most crowded field chasing it. The provincial transportation ministry runs the highway programme, a provincial agency delivers major transit expansion, Toronto's transit commission procures on its own account, and municipal systems across the province buy vehicles, maintenance and infrastructure separately. Being an approved supplier to one of these carries no weight with the next, which catches out firms expanding from a single buyer relationship.

What Procurement Context changes is where the answer lives. The records are exposed over MCP, so your assistant can answer from published tenders and award histories without you opening a portal. Which organisations have tendered this work, who won it, what value the record shows. It reads from the source documents, which means you can weigh the buyer's own wording instead of a third party's paraphrase.

Major transit delivery here is contracted in large packages with long horizons, and the consortia that win them form well before a tender is public. If you are a specialist supplier the useful intelligence is which primes keep appearing on awards for a given agency, because that tells you whose team to be on. That is an award history question, and it is the one that decides whether your pursuit has a route in.

Use cases

Who is buying, and what is next

What an agency has bought, from whom, at what value, and on what cycle. Contracts coming up for renewal are the pipeline nobody has published yet.

Who you are up against

The suppliers who keep winning in a category, with their award history and estimated win rate. Know the incumbent before you commit a team to the response.

What the work goes for

Awarded contract records with values and dates. Price against evidence of what this buyer has paid before, not against a guess.

What is live right now

Open opportunities across every covered portal, filtered by the criteria your team actually qualifies on.

Questions

Does it cover Metrolinx and TTC tenders?
Coverage is portal-agnostic and follows sources that publish publicly, so provincial agency and municipal transit procurement can be included. Sources that publish openly can be added without much delay. Name the organisations you tender to and we will confirm their status.
Can I see which consortia won major transit packages?
Where awards were published, the records name the buying organisation and the winning supplier, with the value the source recorded. For large packages the recurring names across several awards are usually the most telling part. What is visible depends on what the agency published.
Does it include smaller municipal transit systems?
Where they publish publicly, yes. Smaller systems often buy vehicles and maintenance on their own account, and those sources can be added quickly. Tell us which municipalities matter to you.
Do I still submit through the buyer's own portal?
Yes. Submission stays wherever the buyer requires it, and nothing about that changes. What changes is the research beforehand: what is out there and whether it is worth pricing.
